DB Jerrodd Williams (6-0 185) of Daniel, who has been committed to Virginia Tech since June, plans to attend USC's game Saturday night against LSU on an unofficial visit. He will be accompanied by his parents, his brother and his girlriend. "I'm going there to see a good game," Williams said. Asked if the visit means he has renewed interest in the Gamecocks, Williams said, "I'd rather not comment on that. I'm not trying to get something started. I talked to coach Lawing and he wants me to come down. Coach Lawing calls every Thursday night and he tells me they are coming after me hard and I'm the number one defensive back they are going after."
But, Williams said he feels his commitment to Virginia Tech is still a firm one. He has been to one game at Virginia Tech and will go back there for the Virginia game. He plans to set an official visit with Virginia Tech, and he said he might set one with USC if he likes what he sees Saturday and they like him. Williams hs been offered by the Gamecocks and Hokies, and he's also hearing some from West Virginia.
Thru seven games this season for the undefeated Lions, Williams has 25 tackles, two interceptions and three passes broken up. And he's returned a punt 65 yards for a touchdown.
