RB Roderick McDowell (5-10 175) of Sumter made a trip to Clemson this weekend to watch the Tigers take on Georgia Tech. He said his mother wanted to see how things were going in Clemson. McDowell., who is a Clemson commit, says they had a great time. “Tiger Walk is really amazing,” he said. “The fans really embraced it,” added McDowell. He enjoyed the game as well saying, “Everyone expected them to lay down but they really played hard. The fans were great.”
After the game, he met with Dabo Swinney and liked what he had to say. McDowell says he is still committed to the Tigers but is keeping his options open. He had hoped to make the USC/LSU game as well but says they got home a little late and he was too tired to make another trip. He plans to make USC’s next home game against Tennessee in two weeks. McDowell will take his official visit to Clemson when the Gamecocks are in town. He plans to take one to Columbia as well but says, “I have to sit down with my mom and decide when is a good time for me to go to USC (for and official visit).”
