ATH David Sims (6-0 215) of Calhoun County has been committed to Kentucky, but Wednesday night he said that commitment is not ironclad. "I don't know right now," Sims said. "Georgia Tech has been recruiting me just as long and maybe harder than Kentucky. I'm thinking hard about Georgia Tech. But I'm still committed to Kentucky."
Sims attended Georgia Tech's game last week with Virginia. Tech is recruiting Sims as a quarterback and he feels he would fit right in with their option offense. He has not scheduled official visits but he plans to with Kentucky, Georgia Tech and Kansas. He's undecided on his final two visits.
Tennessee is one school he's considering for a visit. USC also has been recruiting Sims but he said he's not that strong on the Gamecocks who are recruiting him as a running back. "I wanted to take a visit there, but every since they got Ben Axon, I haven't been looking at them too hard," Sims said. Sims attended the LSU-USC game and he said he talks a lot with Gamecock recruiter Shane Beamer. He said he's not sure if he'll be in for the Tennessee game.
