Georgia tops USC in SEC soccer tourney

At Orange Beach, Fla., Blakely Mattern scored in the 80th minute as USC lost to Georgia, 2-1, in the first round of the SEC women's soccer tournament despite an 18-3 edge in shots.

USC is 11-6-4 overall.

All four games of the SEC first round Wednesday ended in 2-1 finals as LSU, Tennessee and Florida also advanced.

The Gamecocks await their postseason fate, as the NCAA Selection Show is set for 8 p.m. Monday. The team is looking for its second consecutive bid.
