South Carolina's men's basketball team will be without two of its big men in Friday's exhibition game, and Sam Muldrow could be out longer.
Muldrow, a 6-foot-9 sophomore, will sit out the game against Kentucky Wesleyan because of what coach Darrin Horn termed "academic issues." Horn declined to elaborate, or say whether or not Muldrow was eligible for the fall semester.
"He is working through some academic issues, and he will play when those things are resolved," Horn said.
Asked if there was a time frame, Horn said "not right now."

Mike Holmes, a 6-foot-7 sophomore, will also miss the game because of a violation of team rules that Horn said dates back to last summer.
Holmes is expected to be a starter in the post, and Muldrow a top reserve. Their absence will leave the Gamecocks without a true big man for Friday's game, and Muldrow's continued absence would also be a big loss.
Junior forward Evka Baniulis will start, along with junior forward Dominique Archie, and a backcourt of Devan Downey, Zam Fredrick and Brandis Raley-Ross.
