DB DJ Swearinger (6-0 200) of Greenwood Monday morning officially de-committed from Tennessee, but he did not eliminate the Vols from consideration.
Swearinger had been committed to the Vols since August, but after Phillip Fulmer announced his resignation last week, Swearinger began rethinking his plans.
"I talked to coach Dan Brooks and just told him I want to decommit and open things back up and look around," Swearinger said Monday night. "He said he can understand why."
Swearinger said he's now looking at USC "and any other schools that come in on me."

Coaches from Wake Forest, Maryland and Michigan have called recently. He also would like to make contact with Georgia and Miami. Swearinger said he wants to set his official visits with USC, North Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia and Miami.
He was at the USC-Arkansas game last weekend, the third straight USC home game he's attended.
"USC is the only school I've been to and the only school showing me interest," he said. "They would be a favorite right now."
