DE Duane Chisolm (6-4 245) of Beaufort saw his season come to an early end in mid season due to a knee injury. While he certainly would love to be on the field helping his teammates, the injury could turn out to be a blessing in disguise as it pertains to Chisolm's future. The down time from football has allowed him to focus more on his academics, and he's doing all he can to dispel the feeling that he won't be able to qualify.
"My academic situation is pretty good," Chisolm said. "I should qualify if I do what I have to do. I'm just getting all the classes I need."
Chisolm has an official visit set with USC for January 17th and he continues to get strong interest from recruiter Shane Beamer. "Coach Beamer says I'm at the top of his recruiting list," Chisolm said.
He's also getting strong interest from NC State, Alabama and Florida State. He has an official visit set with NC State for January 24th and plans to set visits with the other two. Chisolm doesn't claim a leader right now.
