USC commitment LB Tony Straughter (6-1 211) of Georgia Military JC is being forced to give some thought to changing his committment to South Florida because of his father. "I'm still on board," Straughter said Wednesday night. "The only school that would make me change my mind is USF. They are close to home (Madison, FL). My dad is paralyzed from the waist down and it would be easier for him to make a South Florida game because it's only three hours away."
Straughter said he's been talking to the Bulls but they have not yet offered. He might take a visit there at some point. Straugher visited USC in September, and on a scale of 1-10, he called the strength of his commitment an 8. He last talked with Gamecock recruiter Ron Cooper two weeks ago.
Straughter is scheduled to visit West Virginia with teammate and fellow USC commitment LB Josh Dickerson December 6th. "I don't see myself going there (West Virginia) because I want my father to see me play," he said. Straughter said he wants to play in college with Dickerson, and USF has also been recruiting his teammate. "He's been my right hand man," he said.
