DB Devonte Holloman (6-3 210) of South Pointe is one of the major targets left on USC's board and the Gamecocks are doing all they can to win him over. Holloman said he talks to USC recruiter Ron Cooper weekly. In fact, Wednesday he talked to Cooper, Steve Spurrier and Ellis Johnson on one call. "They talked about the same things I've been hearing," he said.
Holloman has taken official visits to USC, LSU and Tennessee. The Vols no longer are a factor. He will visit North Carolina November 22nd with his parents and his sister. Then, at some point after his season, he'll make his decision. "I'm just looking at the basic situation for me academic wise, football wise and family wise," Holloman said adding that he does not have a favorite.
Two of Holloman's teammates, Stephon Gilmore and Charles Holmes, are USC commitments, and Holloman said they've been working him over pretty good. "That's having a little impact," Holloman said of his teammates' influence.
