USC police are investigating an incident this week involving backup offensive lineman Ryan Broadhead, who allegedly caused $300 in damages to a door at the dormitory where the majority of the Gamecocks’ players live.
A resident life coordinator at East Quad told police that housing officials had evidence of the 6-foot-5, 275-pound Broadhead damaging an interior door at 12:35 a.m. Wednesday at the south entrance to East Quad, according to an incident report.
USC media relations director Steve Fink said the coaching staff is aware of the incident, which is being handled internally.
No charges have been filed against Broadhead, a redshirt freshman from Cumming, Ga., whose playing experience consists of one snap this year against Alabama-Birmingham.

A university source said Broadhead has agreed to pay for the damages and is expected to go through the university’s student judicial process.
Broadhead declined comment when reached by phone and referred questions to the media relations department.
