ATHENS, Ga. | Georgia has announced a football signing class that includes 17 players, including a pair of quarterbacks.
Aaron Murray of Tampa, Fla., and Zach Mettenberger of Watkinsville, Ga., already have enrolled at the school in hopes of bolstering their chances to replace Matthew Stafford, who entered the NFL draft after his junior season.
The Bulldogs also signed three offensive linemen, three linebackers, three defensive backs and two defensive tackles. Eleven of the signees are from within the state.
Georgia is still waiting to hear from some of its top national targets, including receiver Marlon Brown of Memphis, Tenn. The Bulldogs lost out on state high school player of the year Greg Reid, a cornerback at Lowndes County High who said he'll go with Florida State.
