Dendy Hopes To Get Closer With USC

Greer native Laron Dendy (6-10 235) of Indian Hills JC, IA returned to the lineup Monday night after being out of action since November with a stress fracture. Dendy had played in just nine games this season prior to Monday night averaging 13 points and 11 rebounds per game. Dendy said he's been hearing from Clemson and USC and he said they would like him to visit.

"One of the South Carolina assistants has talked to one of my assistant coaches," Dendy said. "They want me to come in and work out." Dendy said he has offers from Iowa State, Maryland, SMU and Missouri. He said he plans to visit USC, Maryland, Missouri and Iowa State.

Dendy once was a Clemson commitment but decommitted in April 2007. He led Greer to a state championship as a sophomore then enrolled at Prince Avenue Prep in Pickens for his junior year. That same year he left Prince Avenue and enrolled at IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL only to return to Prince Avenue later in the year. He then enrolled at Hope Christian Academy in North Carolina where he played his senior season. He's now in his second season at Indian Hills.
