Georgia Lineman Drawing Gamecock Interest

OL Austin Shepherd (6-5 310) of Suwanee, GA has heard from both USC and Clemson. Neither has offered yet.

"Honestly, I played at 330 pounds last year and lot of schools want to see me play at a smaller weight," said Shepherd. "I've lost 20 pounds and am working hard in the off-season."

His current offers are from Alabama and Alabama-Brimingham. He has gotten interest from Clemson, USC, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Maryland, and Michigan State. He does not have a favorite. "I'm going to wait for some more offers and then I'll figure that stuff out," said Shepherd.

He has been to junior days at FSU, Central Florida, and Alabama and taken unofficial visits to Auburn and Georgia. "I wanted to go to Clemson (for junior day) but is didn't work out., he said. Shepherd says he likes Clemson because, "They've had a good program for a while and i like their coaches". He also likes its proximity to home.

He likes USC because, "They have a legend as a coach and their facilities are awesome." It's also close to home. He has visited USC several times already.
