QB Stephen Curtis (6-3 220) of Sumter still has only one offer from Furman but is beginning to hear from more schools. USC, Clemson, Duke, NC State, Virginia, Tennessee, and Georgia Tech are all showing Curtis interest.
He has been to USC, Tennessee, and Duke for practices and junior days. "I loved it up there (Tennessee)," he said. "It's really nice." He had another opinion of Duke. "It's alright, I guess," said Curtis. "I do love Coach (David) Cutcliffe though. He would be a great quarterbacks coach. Plus, it's a really good school so I wouldn't mind going there." Curtis says he grew up a Gamecock fans so he is very familiar with the program.
As a junior, he threw for 2600 yards and 25 touchdowns rushing for 11 more. Curtis is also a big baseball prospect and has heard from Ray Tanner. "He has talked to me about playing baseball but not playing both (football and baseball)," said Curtis. He does not have any favorites.
