Quarterback Stephen Garcia sprained his ankle Wednesday night during the championship game of a USC intramural basketball league, according to a source close to Garcia.
But before anyone panics, understand that the injury is notconsidered serious. Garcia, one of several football players on thehoops team, was said to be more upset about losing by a point thantwisting his ankle.
USC coach Steve Spurrier, who said he was not aware of Garcia’sinjury, generally does not have a problem with players competing inintramurals in the spring.
Former Gamecocks receiver Sidney Rice injured his wrist dunking in anintramural game a few years ago.
