The Gamecocks' all-time leading receiver is a Denver Bronco.

The Broncos took former USC wide receiver Kenny McKinley with the fifth pick in the fifth round and 141st overall.

The 6-foot, 187-pound McKinley impressed scouts with his quickness and sure hands.

His best season was in 2007 when had 77 catches for 968 yards and nine touchdowns. He missed three games with a hamstring injury this past season.

The Gamecocks are planning to honor McKinley in the fall with a placard at Williams-Brice Stadium.

McKinley came to USC as a former high school quarterback and left as the school’s all-time leader in receptions (207) and receiving yardage (2,781). Used primarily in the slot, McKinley did not run as many “go” routes as the Gamecocks’ outside receivers.

But McKinley believes he is versatile enough to play any receiving spot.
