PK Kyle French (6-2 180) of Monomonee Falls, WI visited both Clemson and USC over his spring break and loved what he saw at each school. "Clemson is really neat because they built the town around the school," said French. "Whatever is going on there is centered around the school and the team."
As for USC he said, "I don't know how to describe it. It's just beautiful. My parents went with me and loved it too. There football facilities are really nice and everything is under construction so you know they're getting even nicer."
He also visited Vanderbilt and had high praise for their school as well. "I want to play down south. I'd love to play in the SEC. That's big time football," he said.
He does not have any offers but is getting a lot of attention from Purdue, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. He did go to Chris Sailor's kicking camp in January and placed first out of over 200 kickers.
He says Clemson may give him the opportunity to come on as as preferred walk-on. "They said their kicker is really young but, if I'm still available, they'd love to have me. Take that for what it's worth," said French.
He did not miss a PAT as a junior and was 1-3 on the season. He also averaged 46 percent touch backs on kickoffs. He did not name a favorite.
