DB Rijo Walker (5-9 173) of Hampton, VA attended USC's camp Saturday along with his mother and brothers.
"It was real nice," Walker said. "We toured the facilities and saw the campus. I enjoyed it a lot. I was doing some research and I saw where they were number two in the nation in defense. I saw the training room. It was nice. They are making renovations everywhere. When it's all done, it's going to be one of the best in the nation. I talked to coach Spurrier, coach Graham and coach Ward."
Walker is being recruited as a cornerback, and for good reason. He's an excellent pass defender. He intercepted 11 passes as a sophomore, 4 as a junior. He also camped at Duke and Virginia and has nothing else planned.
Walker said his top three right now are USC, Virginia and West Virginia with USC his favorite. Walker said the Gamecocks told him they plan to take three corners and have one committed.
"If they get another cornerback commitment, that will shorten my timetable (for a commitment)," Walker said. "I don't want to miss the opportunity."
Walker also has offers from NC State, East Carolina, Wake Forest and Northwestern.
