Clemson and USC are among the offers for LB LaDarious Owens (6-3 230) of Bessemer, AL, and he's seriously interested in both. Owens said he talked recently from his recruiters at both schools, Clemson's Charley Harbison and Kevin Steele, and USC's Lorenzo Ward.
"Coach Harbison recruited me when he was at Mississippi State and coach Steele recruited me when he was at Alabama," Owens said. "And coach Ward is always straight forward with me. I really respect that a lot."
Owens visited Clemson in the spring. He's yet to visit USC. He also has offers from Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee, Florida State, LSU, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Southern Miss, Kentucky, Arkansas and UAB. He has not decided on official visits and does not have favorites.
Owens says it's not a given he will stay in state. "I'm going to go where I can make an impact and where it feels like a family, regardless of where it is."
Last season Owens had 92 tackles and 18 sacks.
