ATH Mario Jones (5-8 180) of Myrtle Beach is doing what he needs to do to gain his eligiblity for January enrollment, now he just hopes the schools talking with him stick to their word.
Jones is the former Myrtle Beach standout who attended Coffeyville JC, KS last year but is taking six hours at Horry-Georgetown TEC this fall. Jones said he is doing fine in his classes and the six hours will give him more than he needs to be eligible for a scholarship in January.
Jones said he continues to hear from USC, Marshall, Coastal Carolina and Georgia Southern. "Everyone is telling me to be eligible in January," Jones said. He last talked to USC before their first game. More recently he's heard from Coastal and Georgia Southern.
Two of his former high school teammates are at Georgia Southern. Jones said his brother, who played at South Florida, plans to alert their staff about him. And he said he hopes to get to a USC game this season.
