Knights to test USC soccer's perfection

The No. 12 South Carolina women's soccer team (6-0-0) plays host tonight at 7 against No. 17 Central Florida (5-1-1) in the first matchup between nationally ranked teams at Stone Stadium.

The USC women are one of nine teams with perfect records and are one of three teams that have not allowed a goal this season.

Senior defender Blakely Mattern is leading the Gamecocks. In three weeks, she has twice been named SEC Defensive Player of the Week, twice named to the Soccer America National Team of the Week and was picked to the Top Drawer Soccer National Team of the Week.

Junior goalkeeper Mollie Patton has registered six consecutive shutouts, tied for the NCAA lead. She has not allowed a goal in 540 minutes of play.

UCF posted a 1-0 double overtime win against then-No. 4 Florida State and a 1-0 victory against South Florida last week
