USC tailback Jarvis Giles was named the SEC's freshman of the week Monday following the first 100-yard rushing game of his career Saturday in the Gamecocks' 38-16 win against Florida Atlantic.
Giles led USC with 113 yards on 11 carries and scored his first career touchdown -- a 12-yarder in the third quarter. Giles, whose longest gain was for 38 yards, became the first USC freshman to rush for 100 yards since Taylor Rank in 2006.
