USC hopes to beat Vanderbilt on the field Saturday night, and the Gamecocks also are trying to peal away a commitment from the Commodores.
DB Kenny Ladler (6-0 185) of Atlanta committed to Vandy in June but he is looking at what other options he has. One is USC. "They just offered this week," Ladler said. "Coach Ward said he's bringing in one safety and four corners and I would be the only safety they bring in if I come."
Ladler said he'll set official visits with Vanderbilt and USC. "I've got some interest in them (USC) right now and I'll probably take an official visit there. And I'll probably take an unofficial there for the Florida game." Ladler also holds offers from East Carolina, Toledo, New Mexico and Western Kentucky.
Ladler plays strong safety. He has 39 tackles and one interception this season.
