Offensive lineman Duvan Milsap (6-foot-5, 300 pounds) of Buford, Ga., committed to USC on Tuesday night.
Milsap said he made his decision last week and contacted Gamecocks offensive line coach Eric Wolford and his recruiter Shane Beamer with the pledge.
"It's closer to home and it just felt like a better fit," Milsap said. "I've been contemplating it for a while."
Milsap said he picked the Gamecocks over Oklahoma State and Ole Miss. He also had offers from Clemson, Mississippi State, Louisville and East Carolina.
Milsap, who plays offensive tackle, is the 19th commitment for the Gamecocks and the eighth offensive lineman. Another offensive line commitment, Elliot Williams of Georgia Military JC, might not make it into school for academic reasons.
