DB PJ Clyburn (6-2 210) of Statesville, NC is being considered for an offer by USC as a strong safety. "I don't know when I'm going to get one," Clyburn said, "but I'm expecting it pretty soon."
Clyburn attended the USC-Vanderbilt game and considers the Gamecocks to be one of his favorites along with East Carolina and Arkansas. "It's just the atmosphere there," Clyburn said. "Coach Graham, the coaching staff, the academics, the way they work together. I love how their defense plays together."
Clyburn talked to recruiter Jay Graham Thursday night. "We have a pretty good relationship going there," he said. "We talk about life and how football is."
Clyburn has offers from Illinois, East Carolina, Arkansas, Kentucky, NC State and some smaller programs. He's also visited East Carolina.
Last season Clyburn had 79 tackles and 5 interceptions. As a receiver he had 31 catches for 471 yards and 3 touchdowns. He has 2 interceptions this season.
