DB Victor Hampton (5-10 175) of Darlington made his official visit to USC over the weekend. Hampton said he had a good visit but did not commit. He's basically down to USC and Tennessee and will try to set up an official visit with the Vols for this coming weekend.
Hampton had been to USC for a game earlier in the season so he was already familiar with the football side of things. "I saw some things I needed to find out academic wise and how they run their tutors," Hampton said. "I was already impressed football wise. The atmosphere was great. The defense played good. There were a couple of big plays they gave up. They were a couple of plays away from winning that one. I just needed to visit and see everything. I talked to all the coaches, mostly coach Ward."
Hampton said there's no leader right now between USC and Tennessee. He has said he would wait until the US Army All American Game to announce a decision, but now hw says he might have a decision earlier. His mother and guardian joined him on the visit. Jason Barnes was his player host.
