S.C. State is now under review by the Southern Association of Colleges and schools.
- Accreditation is granted by meeting universal quality standards established by such organizations as SACS.
- SACS will review curriculum standards, instructor quality, finances and governance in its accreditation process. Schools must periodically undergo and pass a review in order to maintain accreditation.
- Schools must have accreditation in order to participate in the federal student loan program.
