OL Morgan Moses (6-7 320) of Fork Union Prep, VA left school for his hometown of Richmond, VA Thursday having completed his academic requirements there except for qualifying on the ACT. He will take the test again Saturday.
Fork Union coach John Shuman said Thursday that Morgan plans to take an official visit to LSU late in the weekend after taking the ACT. Then early next week, he plans to take an official visit to Florida. He has visited USC and Virginia, with new coach Mike London, also remains in the picture.
"He's definitely fired up about South Carolina," Shuman said. "But he knows Mike London will communicate with him shortly."
One thing Shuman is concerned about is that he was told that all the paperwork for mid-year enrollees needed to be in at the schools by next Wednesday. That means transcripts, test scores, everything. And of course with Moses taking the test Saturday, there' no way his score will be available by then. That could prevent him from being able to transfer at mid-term. Shuman said Moses won't make a decision until he learns if he's qualified on the test.
As for USC commitment DB Chris Payne, Shuman said Payne plans to leave Fork Union at the Christmas break and not return, and he will do so without having graduated from the school. Shuman said Payne needs to fulfull five course credits to graduate, but by leaving he will only have two. He said Payne could try to enroll at another school to get the remaining course credits. If he doesn't, he will be ineligible for USC next fall.
