With Wolford leaving, Va. lineman drops USC

OL Morgan Moses of Richmond said Monday he will choose either Florida or Virginia, dropping USC because of the pending departure of offensive line coach Eric Wolford to Youngstown State. Moses made an official visit to Florida over the weekend and returned home Monday.

USC recruiter GA Mangus was in Tampa Monday to once again check on ATH Jeremy Deering. Mangus has been working Deering for an official visit but he has yet to commit to taking one with the Gamecocks. Deering visited Illinois over the weekend and he's also visited Purdue. Rutgers is also a factor with him.

DL Sharrif Floyd of Philadelphia was due back from Hawaii Monday. He played in an all star game out there last week. Floyd is scheduled for an official visit to USC starting Tuesday, but because he's missed a lot of schools, that trip might be pushed back. Floyd is scheduled to visit North Carolina this weekend. If he doesn't come to USC early this week, the Gamecocks will try to get him to visit them this weekend instead of the Tar Heels. Floyd has taken official visits to Florida, Southern Cal and Ohio State. Even if he doesn't take an official visit to USC, the Gamecocks figure to be in the hunt to the end for Floyd because he spent six days on the campus this summer and is very familiar with the program.
