UPDATED: Bowl week schedule, weather

The Gamecocks are scheduled to practice through Thursday in preparation for their Bowl matchup with Connecticut on Saturday. A team walk-through is planned for Friday at Legion Field in Birmingham, Ala.

Both South Carolina and Connecticut will take part in a number of off-the-field team activities, including a tour of the Civil Rights Institute; a Bowling and BBQ Challenge; and visits to a children's hospital and VA hospital.

Below are the Gamecocks' practice plans, key fan events as well as each day's weather forecast.



The team is scheduled to practice at 1 p.m. (CST) at Birmingham Southern College (closed to public).

-- Birmingham weather forecast: Cloudy during the day with a high near 53, according to the National Weather Service. Thursday night, there's a 50 percent chance of rain mixed with snow, with a low around 36. Little or no snow accumulation is expected.



The team has a walk-through planned for Legion Field on Friday afternoon.

A Street Festival and Pep Rally is planned for fans in Birmingham's historic Five Points South from 2 to 8 p.m. (CST). The pep rally featuring head coaches, team captains and marching bands is 5 to 6 p.m. (CST). The event is free.

-- Birmingham weather forecast: Partly sunny, with a daytime high near 44. Partly cloudy that night with a low around 26.



The Bowl hosts Fan Zone outside Legion Field from 9 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. (CST). It is free and features attractions for all ages as well as live music.

The Gamecocks and Huskies kick off the Bowl at 1 p.m. (CST).

-- Birmingham weather forecast: The morning starts off in the mid-20s. Expect sunny daytime conditions with a high near 44, followed by the mid-20s Saturday night.
