Marlboro County LB Lateek Townsend (6-3 205) said Tuesday night the four schools right now he's most interested in are USC, Clemson, Florida and Southern Cal. And between the Gamecocks and Tigers, right now Townsend professes more of a love for USC.
"Both schools are great schools," Townsend said. "I see a lot of linebackers favoring Clemson right now. I see a lot of linebackers wanting to go there. I don't see as many linebackers involved with South Carolina right now."
Townsend said while USC holds the lead in the state, he's not calling the Gamecocks his overall favorite right now. "There is no overall favorite," he said. "But the in-state schools will come first. I live in South Carolina and, of course, you want to go to an in state school."
Recruiters from LSU, North Carolina and Appalachian State have been thru the school, and he's expecting USC recruiter Ellis Johnson to visit next week. Townsend has talked to Johnson on the phone. He has not talked with Clemson recruiter Kevin Steele.
