Finally our month of traveling is over and we have an eight-game homestand. This past month we have only had eight home games and it has been pretty hectic traveling for almost every series.
The team is turning things around and is playing a lot better than before. The start of our homestand was against the Hickory Crawdads. We split the four-game series heading into our next series against the Rome Braves.
Nothing too exciting has happened this week, except for one of our players was invited to do an ESPN commercial. I know it’s kind of random, but Sean Black was invited to be in a commercial for ESPN about baseball signs. So keep a look out for a commercial with a Charleston Riverdogs player for ESPN.
I was also able to follow the Gamecocks in the first game in their regional. I worried a little when they fell behind early but the boys were able to rally and beat Bucknell. I’m excited that they are hosting a regional this year because it is a big boost to have home field advantage.
I wish them luck in the rest of the regional and the rest of the way to Omaha. The draft is coming up this week too, so I wish the players that are eligible the best of luck with that also.
