Defensive end Jadeveon Clowney (6-6 240) of South Pointe made an unofficial visit to South Carolina on Saturday with his mother.
Clowney has visited USC in the past, but this was the first chance for his mother to check out the school and meet with USC coaches. They met with recruiter Ellis Johnson and fellow assistants Brad Lawing, Lorenzo Ward and Jay Graham.
USC is one of the top schools on Clowney's list, along with Clemson, LSU, Alabama, Florida State and Miami. He's also visited Clemson, Alabama, Georgia and North Carolina.
Clowney is considered the No. 1 college prospect in the country by several recruiting services.
In other news, offensive lineman Bobby Hart of Fort Lauderdale committed Saturday to Florida State. He also had USC, Clemson, Alabama, Florida, LSU, Georgia and North Carolina on his favorites list.
