Republican leaders have gathered in Columbia today to talk about the importance of repealing federal health care reform.
U.S. Rep. Joe Wilson, a Lexington Republican, was joined at the State House by S.C. Attorney Henry McMaster, who has filed a federal lawsuit challenging health care reform on constitutional grounds. Also attending was Republican attorney general nominee Alan Wilson, Joe Wilson's son, who plans to carry on McMaster's court fight if elected.
Joe Wilson is facing Democrat Rob Miller of Beaufort in what has become the nation's most expensive congressional race. Alan Wilson faces Greenville attorney Matthew Richardson. Joe Wilson has said congressional Republicans, who will mount a serious bid to take the U.S. House majority, will work toward repealing the federal health care law that eventually mandates coverage for all Americans.
