Sarah Palin fans began lining up Tuesday night about 10 p.m. at the Books-A-Million in Northeast Richland for the chance to meet the Republican star.
By 5:30 p.m. Wednesday most of the 500 wristbands that guaranteed buyers of Palin’s latest book would have it autographed by the former Alaska governor had been distributed.
Palin will appear at Books-A-Million in the Village at Sandhills at 6 p.m. Friday. It will be her second visit to South Carolina this year, having appeared this summer at a State House rally to endorse Gov.-elect Nikki Haley.
Wednesday afternoon, several hundred people -- braving cold, windy conditions -- had formed a line waiting for the 5 p.m. wristband distribution.
Books-A-Million had prepared for many people to begin the wait for wristbands overnight. But only four people began keeping watch Tuesday night, with much of the crowd waiting until lunchtime Wednesday to fall in line.
