Use the interactive map and graphs below to explore data from the S.C. Department of Public Safety about collisions on Midlands interstates.
About the data: The following visualizations are based on data from Jan. 1 to through September of this year. The data consists of every collision incident logged by the S.C. Highway Safety Office for interstates 20, 26 and 77 in the counties of Calhoun, Fairfield, Kershaw, Lexington, Orangeburg, Newberry and Richland.
There were about 2,600 records in the data. The map excludes about 200 of those records because the locational information could not be verified.
To explore the graphs, use the tools provided. In most cases, hovering your mouse over an icon will cause a small window to appear that indicates what that control does.
