Warren Giese, new head coach for South Carolina, gets off to a nice 2-0 start, as Carolina defeats Duke 7-0 in Columbia.
King Dixon scored the only TD in the game, in the second quarter of play.
Giese and the Gamecocks would put together a pretty nice year in 1957, with a 7-3 overall record, and a 4-2 ACC record.
Ironically, King Dixon would later become the Athletic Director at South Carolina in 1988.
