Through eight games so far this year, Marcus Lattimore has rushed for 722 yards, an average of 103.1 yards per game.
If Lattimore continues with this average, he would end the regular season with 1,134 yards, which would give him the most rushing yards in a single season by a South Carolina running back since George Rogers won the Heisman Trophy in 1980.
In the time since Rogers graduated after having shattered records while at USC, the Gamecocks have only had three seasons with a rusher of at least 1,000 yards: Harold Green in 1987, Duce Staley in 1996 and Derek Watson in 2000.
