Coach Brad Scott’s first trip to Clemson is very successful, as his Gamecocks pound the Tigers 33-7.
The big play of the game occurred while many fans were returning to their seats after halftime. Carolina went with some trickery on the second half kickoff as Reggie Richardson took a cross the field lateral pass from Brandon Bennett all the way down to the Clemson six-yard line. Bennett would run it in on the next play giving Carolina a 21-7 advantage.
The Gamecocks would not look back, shutting out the Tigers in the second half of play.
The win gave USC a 6-5 record and an invite to the Carquest Bowl in Miami vs. West Virginia.
