Carolina’s amazing season continued as they won their eleventh straight game, 84-79 over UK in OT. Melvin Watson’s incredible double-pump layup in traffic with 27.6 seconds left sent the game into the extra period. Fittingly, Watson’s late steal in overtime sealed the deal for the 19th-ranked Gamecocks and the 12,575 fans at the Carolina Coliseum went home happy.
USC ran its record to an amazing 10-0 in the SEC. It was an astounding turnabout for a team that had lost to UNC-Asheville and Charleston Southern earlier in the season.
