Carolina picked a big stage to break its 12-game losing streak vs. Kentucky.
USC breezed by the No. 12 Wildcats 70-57, in the SEC Tournament’s second-round in Atlanta.
Carolina was very impressive in the win, shooting 50%, and leading by as many as 18 in the second half. The USC D held Kentucky to only 1-of-19 shooting from behind the arc. Carolina had amazingly balanced scoring as well. Senior guards Aaron Lucas and Jamel Bradley led the way with 12 and 11 points respectively. Tony Kitchings, Rolando Howell, and Carlos Powell also hit double-figures with 10 each.
Led by first-year coach Dave Odom, Carolina made it all the way to the championship game of the NIT in ’02, before falling to Memphis in Madison Square Garden.
