ALL-LOCAL STILL OPEN

While other farmers markets have come to a close, the All-Local Farmers Market on Whaley Street is still going strong. Check out the selection of fresh produce, meats and other items from 8 a.m. to noon every Saturday. For a list of participating vendors, see http://stateplate.org.

WORLD BEER FESTIVAL

Tickets for the 2010 World Beer Festival in Columbia are on sale now. There will be two four-hour sessions on Jan. 16, noon-4 p.m. and 6-10 p.m. Standard admission to a single session is $40, which includes beer samples, live music, educational sessions by industry experts and a festival tasting glass. VIP tickets, which cost $75, add admission to a VIP suite with complimentary food, more select beers, a commemorative glass and separate entertainment. Tickets are available at http://allaboutbeer.com/wbfcolumbia or at Green's Discount Beverage locations, Morganelli's Party Store, Village Idiot Pizza on Devine, Gervais & Vine and Rosso Trattoria Italia. A portion of the proceeds go to Columbia Opportunity Resource and the River Alliance.

CONTEST

The International Culinary School at The Art Institute of Charleston is now accepting applications for the Best Teen Chef Competition 2010. The top prize winner will earn a full-tuition scholarship toward a bachelor's degree, an associate's degree, certificate or diploma program to study culinary arts at any one of the 30 participating Art Institutes.
