Amazon and Whole Foods Market announced plans this week for two-hour delivery of natural and organic products from Whole Foods Market for Amazon Prime customers in certain markets.
Columbia is not one of them — yet.
Starting Feb. 8, Prime customers in large, to mid-size markets such as Austin, Cincinnati, Dallas and Virginia Beach can shop online at www.primenow.com or through the Prime Now app and expect free two-hour delivery (or pay $7.99 for one-hour delivery on orders of $35 or more).
Although Columbia has a Whole Foods Market at Cross Hill, it is not on the list of cities available for the Prime service. Neither is Charleston. While Amazon and Whole Foods Market will expand the delivery system to more cities in 2018, Columbia’s Whole Foods Market store team leader Adeyemi Adeniyi could not comment on when the service would be coming to this area.
The closest cities with delivery are Charlotte, Raleigh and Atlanta.
