▪ state and federal regulations concerning food production;
▪ definition of an approved facility;
▪ food safety planning;
▪ product testing;
▪ nutrition labeling;
▪ food processing;
▪ food packaging;
▪ documents and record keeping;
▪ traceability and recall;
▪ resources for business planning and more.
The course culminates in an in-person workshop on April 19 at the Phillips Market Center, 117 Ballard Court, West Columbia. Course cost, $175.
Adair Hoover, a Clemson Extension food safety agent, says that the Food2Market program is perfect for anyone “who has a great idea about a food product they want to sell, as well as those just beginning or already established in the marketplace.”
