Courtney Haynes, Joel Keefe marry

Courtney Lyn Haynes and Joel Grady Keefe, both of Columbia, were united in marriage Jan. 6 in Boyce Chapel at First Baptist Church in Columbia. The Rev. Shawn Crews officiated the 4 o’clock ceremony. A reception followed at 701 Whaley.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Garris Moore Haynes of Columbia. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Harvey Mabry of Columbia, Mrs. Margaret Ann Taylor of Timmonsville, and the late Mr. Dwight Haynes of Florence. She is a graduate of Ben Lippen School and the University of South Carolina, where she received a bachelor’s degree in social work and is pursuing a master’s degree in social work.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Dallas Keefe of Patrick. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Knowlton Motley of Patrick and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Keefe of Pamplico. He is a graduate of Cheraw High School and the University of South Carolina, where he received a bachelor’s degree in exercise science. He is employed with Palmetto Health and plans to attend medical school.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents. Music was provided by soloist Bailey Alyse Haynes, pianist Joshua Evanovich, and The Jackson Sisters string quartet. The reader was the bride’s aunt, Nora Ann McDonald of Florence.

Maid of honor was the bride’s sister, Bailey Alyse Haynes of Columbia. Bridesmaids were the groom’s sisters-in-law, Jenna Coker Keefe of Lexington and Jacqueline Marie Keefe of Rock Hill; Taylor Kyllonen Clark of Charleston; and Caroline Marie Gunter of Raleigh, North Carolina.

William Dallas Keefe served as his son’s best man. Groomsmen were the groom’s brothers, James Knowlton Keefe of Lexington, Michael Kaleb Keefe and William Seth Keefe of Rock Hill, Zachary Allan Keefe of Columbia; Cameron Scott Eddins of Columbia; and Akash Sinha of Washington, D.C. Junior groomsman was the groom’s nephew, James Cole Keefe of Lexington.

Guests were greeted by Erin Gay Jordan and Kirkland Hammond Jordan, both of Columbia.

After honeymooning in Grenada, the couple is residing in Columbia.
