In their own words
Q: How did you meet?
A: Chad and Erica met at their church: Gantt Street Baptist Church in Cayce.
Q: When did you know your fiance(e) was “the one”?
A: Chad and Erica admired one another from afar for a couple of years. When the time was right, Chad asked Erica for a date. They began dating in November 2016 and were engaged 11 months later, in October 2017.
Q: Tell us about the proposal.
A: Chad proposed at sunset on Oct. 12, 2017, on the Harry Easterling Bridge in Peak, one of their favorite places to hike and enjoy nature. He was nervous he would drop the ring into the river, as he was simply clutching it in his hand, which was firmly in his pocket. Erica said yes at least four times.
