A 19-year-old Army private from Lyman, S.C. has died in Afghanistan, the Department of Defense said Wednesday.
Private First Class Adam C. Ross died July 24 from wounds suffered when he came under small arms fire, the statement said. He is the fourth South Carolinian to die in combat in Afghanistan this year.
Ross was stationed in Vicenza, Italy with the 2nd battalion, 503rd Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team.
