Gov. Nikki Haley will make her first appearance at the University of South Carolina’s Darla Moore School of Business 33rd annual Economic Outlook Conference next week.
Haley speaks at 1:30 p.m., Monday after 2014 forecasts by USC economists Doug Woodward and Joey Von Nessen. The event begins at 11:30 a.m. with registration and a luncheon. It ends at 4:30 p.m.
Other governors, including Jim Hodges and Mark Sanford, have attended the economic outlook events in the past, a USC spokeswoman said.
Haley replaced the business school’s namesake, Lake City financier Darla Moore, on the USC board of trustees with a campaign donor soon after the Lexington Republican took office in 2011.
Moore, USC’s largest benefactor, is not scheduled to attend the conference on Monday, the school said. A $106.5 million new business school is scheduled to open on Assembly and Green streets in the spring.
