People and achievements


Harold and Betsy Hill of Gadsden were named finalists in the S.C. Farm Bureau Young Farmer and Rancher Achievement Award for 2009.


Allyson Way Hank, president of Mungo Co.'s Sovereign Homes division, has earned the National Association of Home Builders' Certified Green Professional designation.


Veronica Reynolds of the S.C. Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation has been elected president of the S.C. Society of Certified Public Managers. Cynthia Dannels of the S.C. State Housing Finance and Development Authority has been elected president-elect and Sylvia Drayton of the S.C. Department of Transportation has been elected treasurer. Other new board members include: Lenora Addison-Miles of Labor, Licensing and Regulation, Anne Futch of Department of Transportation, Tamara Hammond of Department of Disabilities and Special Needs and Carl Bowen of the Housing Finance and Development Authority.


Columbia Eye Clinic received the Columbia Free Medical Clinic's Legacy Award, which recognizes organizations that help the clinic provide free, quality health care.

PHT Services associate Leslie Soto has earned the Associate in Management designation.


Gray T. Culbreath, managing partner at Collins & Lacy, received the 2009 Civic Star Award of the Richland County Bar Association. Recipients are selected by the bar's executive committee in recognition of exceptional and meritorious service to our community.

Rogers Townsend & Thomas has added four new attorneys:

Kristine Cato is certified by the S.C. Supreme Court as a specialist in labor and employment law. Cato is also a certified mediator.

Stephen Lenker will focus on commercial transactions, commercial real estate, corporate law and creditors' rights issues.

Angela Kirby is certified by the S.C. Supreme Court as a specialist in estate planning and probate law. She is also a certified public accountant. She served as an associate probate judge for Richland County for five years.

Kathleen Palinski will work in the areas of probate administration, estate planning, and fiduciary administration law. She is certified as a family court mediator.

Logan M. Wells has joined Collins & Lacy as an associate in the practice areas of premises liability retail/hospitality and insurance coverage.


The S.C. Association of Nonprofit Organizations named Glenice Saddler new director of membership and resource development. She will oversee membership development and retention, grant writing and corporate development.


Bluebird Property Management won the management category from Small Business Commerce Association's 2009 Best of Business Awards.

Dail Longaker Jr. has joined NAI Avant's brokerage group.
