Ground beef sold at local Publix recalled

Publix Super Markets announced a recall Thursday of ground beef sold at the company's Northeast Richland store.

The recall, which the company said is voluntary, involves ground beef with a "sell by date" of Dec. 24.

The beef is being recalled because it "does not meet Publix's quality standards," the company said.

The meet was sold at Publix's store at 10128 Two Notch Road.

Customers may return the product to the store for a refund or replacement, Publix said. Customers also can call Publix consumer relations at (800) 242-1227.
